Tom Hall - Drums
After purchasing my first drum kit at the age of 16, much to my neighbour’s displeasure… the 20 minutes worth of practice I was allowed each day was spent jamming along to my favourite bands and perfecting the simple but visually pleasing drum fills that Phil Collins himself would be proud of. Still to this day, a completely self-taught drummer… once I had mastered Lamb Of God’s “Ruin”, I was ready for anything!
Coming off of a National Diploma course in music performance, I joined my first serious band at the tender age of 18! After taking to the stage at my first proper gig supporting ‘Skindred’, playing to a sold out audience… my bum hole was puckered up tighter than my snare drum!
Double bass drum and blast beats aplenty was the nature of the game, until my good friend introduced me to the Psychedelic/Reggae/Funk/Prog Rock drums chops that Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Incubus and Tool brought to the table to make me a much more rounded and versatile player.
After a lengthy period playing the toilet circuit, learning my craft, and becoming proficient in the art of Jagermeister, I stumbled upon a group of people with similar commitment, ambition and aspirations to myself. This group of people would later become known as ‘THE DIRTY YOUTH’
