It all started with a shock. I had Back In Black on in the car when I turned round to hear my mum singing along to every word. All of a sudden this woman who’d never given any hint of being cool, turned into a big influence on what music I’d listen to. She dropped a box of cd’s on my bedroom floor filled with Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and other bands, along with a ticket to my first gig.

If hearing a band on CD was infatuation, seeing music live was love.

That sent me down a course of devouring music as fast as I could, listening to anything and everything I could get my hands on. eventually I decided I wanted to do it for myself. My dad had always been learning different instruments including guitar, piano and harmonica, so there was always something around to try and get a tune out of. I gravitated towards the guitar and spent most of my high school days going home between lessons just to learn a new song or perfect a riff.

A chance call from Matt brought me in to The Dirty Youth, and a few years down the line here we are. So I hope you enjoy the album, mine’s a Jack & Coke (double) if you see me out!
